Graduation...

19 Nov 2010...

The last day of school for SVPS, yet you all will wait for the days where your PSLE results will be made known to you...

However, 19 Nov 2010 marks a significant phase of your life where you will graduate from SVPS and move on in life... In the various secondary schools, and continue to shine vibrantly just as each individual of you would be...

Time flies... It has been 672 days as of today where I am writing to you this note...

I could still fondly recall all the moments we shared as a class of 2009. The stormy NE show... The period of time where I was so mad with you all that I didn't talk to you all for days...

The wonderful card you have made for me... So much...

5.7 of 2009s, you pupils have touched me so deeply that it is quite impossible for me to forget cleanly of each of you...

Each of you holds a special place in my heart, and as you trudge on in life as a P6 this year in various classes, I continue to ask for feedback and updates about you...

You have grown up... You have matured... You have been such dears to me...

Now is the time for us to part, as each of you move on...

I hereby wish you great success in everything you undertake, and remember that in life we are always given choices - to do good, or to make evil.

Always remember that every choice we take in life has its consequences... Live your future carefully.

Boys - Grow to be a listener, boys of integrity, responsibility and resilience to never give up. Always be gentlemen who would exemplify respect, care, concern, integrity and courage. Grow up to learn how to love and respect ladies as they ought to be, never to take advantage or to despise as tools.

Girls - Cherish yourselves, and value everything about you about all. Never be taken in by sweet words and empty promises. Never let anyone tell you that you are no good, ugly, fat, whatever. You are the most beautiful person ever lived... Be discerning. Be wise. Protect yourselves. Stay focus and always know that nothing is forever, at least not at these teenage years...

Out there in the secondary schools, it is a whole new world... Learn to protect yourselves and learn from the life experiences you are about to face ahead...

=D

I am so gonna miss each and every one of you... Love you all.

Take care.

All the best for your Preliminary Oral Examinations!

Hello dear all!~

All the best for your preliminary oral examinations!~ I pray that each of you would have the peace and confidence to handle any topics and picture at ease!~

May each of you not just pass with flying colours, but score for it!

Remember to smile and look at the examiners when you speak.

1) Pronounce every word clearly, the past tense and all.

2) Pause regularly for commas and full stops.

3) Be expressive when it comes to reading conversations by the characters in the passage.

4) Watch out for exclamation marks!

5) Always use present tense in picture discussion.

6) Include what you see in the picture about the person from head to toe, say what the person is doing, what he will do, what will happen next and how u think the person will feel.

7) include your opinion if you want to.

8) Always have an introduction and a conclusion to the picture discussion. Say a lot a lot about the thing u see before moving on to the next.

9) Use good vocabulary

10) Smile, and look at the examiners during conversation. Be chatty!

All the best!~ God bless! I'll be praying for you!

Dreams, Ambitions and Aspirations...

Everyone is allowed to have dreams, ambitions and aspirations...

After all, it is free.

It is better to have some dreams, some ambitions and aspirations than to have none at all.

"For men, without dreams and visions, will perish..."

This doesn't mean that if you do not have any dreams, ambitions or visions right now, you will die. NO...

It simply means that inside each of us, we would have lost the goal, and purpose of why we are living this life...

A lot of you at this present moment could be thinking that studies are really boring, troublesome, painful, tiring, pointless and not fun at all...

A lot of you may also think that how you would wish you would never ever have to study, to learn or to go to school... Instead, you would love to have all day before the television, computer games and more...

May I ask, if no one is keen to learn, then who will be the ones to replace the old doctors, lawyers, prime ministers, politicians, engineers, scientists, teachers, chefs, technicians, principals, astronauts, soldiers, officers, policemen, civil defence officers, pilots, sailors and more?

There will come a point of time whereby the world needs new and young people to be included so that we may carry on the many good things we now see in life.

Imagine a world without new doctors - many will die from diseases...

Imagine a world without teachers - many knowledge, skills and arts will be lost...

Imagine a world without you, the learners - the world we know will go back to ice age or prehistoric moments maybe?

Learning now doesn't mean we just want you to have As and Bs on your report books... We simply hope that through these basic things you learn in life, as you go on to be older, you will gain more knowledge and a better understanding of what you are good in and what you love... Then, you will have a better idea of what kind of future and ambitions you would want to have for yourselves... Learning is a lifelong process after all.

Yes, we all have subjects we are weak in, or rather dislike. However, you got to ask yourselves this.

Since when did you start hating a subject? Was it when you started failing?

Of course, nobody enjoys failing, but hey, if you continue to hate and dislike the subject, and always run away from it, aren't you being a coward in the first place? How will running away from a subject you didn't do well make anything or even you feel better?

You will only feel worse as you have more sense of failure and no success...

Why not try a new approach? Make friends and be on good terms with the subjects and do what you can to 'defeat' the challenging problems along the way? At least, when you improve, you feel greater sense of joy and confidence!

So, is learning just all about studying for good grades? I would rather think of it as a task for me to feel that I am capable of achieving improvements for myself. I do so just to make myself feel good. It's really up to you. No one can change how you think, but only you yourself.

For me, I choose to love learning, as well as teaching, because I see myself playing a part to continue on what I love... Even if you don't like to learn, I would still love teaching and learning on my own. It's my choice to make. I choose the kind of response and attitude I want to have towards my life, society and the future of the world.

What about you?

Where I was during 4th to 5th July...

Over the long weekend, I went over to Sibu Island, Malaysia, to one of the kelong there to fish. It was very, very relaxing and refreshing for me!~ It was a great getaway from all the stress and IT in Singapore... Totally away from internet, computer and work...

We went there to the kelong to stay... Others were fishing... While I watched them, played around with fishing for a while, read books, read newspapers, read bible, enjoy the sea breeze, sun tanning and even sleeping!~

It was natural air-conditioner for me there!~

Well enough of talking, let the pictures do the talking then?
