It was really raining cats and dogs the whole day at SVPS! Yup, it was Wednesday afternoon (just yesterday) and I would love to be at home, comfortably tucked inside my comforter and bed, and off I would go, to Slumberland, and only to be awakened the next morning by "Rocky" as my alarm at 5.30am.
Alas, it was not the case. I was still in school attending a Maths workshop, while the rest of you would be happily at home, doing perhaps something you would really enjoy doing. Initially I nearly dismissed the workshop as something which would be redundant, as I had gone through a module on that in NIE.
Yet, I could be so wrong. Such is the nature of Man, familiarity breeds contempt. Likewise, complacency gives no room for learning... On the contrary, humility gives birth to learning...
I was reminded, of the things that my secondary school principal used to lament ceaselessly: "Stay focused, be humble, and be ready to learn." How true these words would turn out to be. The more complacent a person gets, the less he will learn. So, I had a gentle reminder just then during the workshop that we need to always stay focus, be humble and be ready to learn, no matter how we may think that we have already learnt this previously!
The rest of the evening was spent dealing with class administrative matters... Checking consent forms, edusave forms and marking Maths assignments...
Finally, it was time to go home and when I was about to drive off from school and on my way to send a friend home, I saw a huge band of rainbow before my very eyes!
It would be the most vivid band of rainbow I have encountered! It would be one of the rainbows with the longest bridge across the dark sky that evening after 6.30pm! Surprisingly, it was still very bright for an evening around 7pm!
Let the pictures do the talking!
These pictures were taken, by a friend whom I was sending home that evening... Fret not, my hands were gripping the wheel, and the eyes fixed on the traffic around me.
Rainbow always mean something special to people, to Christians, but it meant ever more so to me that evening...
Rainbow - You come after a storm just to reward those who have braved the storm and persevered to see your beauty.
Perhaps, all that we have to do when we go through tough times in our lives would not be focusing on the problems, but on the beauty and reward that comes after the challenges (storm)...
Think about it dear 5.7...
